3 Podcasts to Listen to For a Healthy Body and Mind
Who still listens to the radio? Get turned on to these podcasts for a much better listening experience.
Podcasts have quickly become an essential part of my daily routine.
I listen to podcasts while commuting to and from work and while working out.
Not only do they provide an excellent source of entertainment but they are also a valuable tool for anyone looking to absorb new information from knowledgeable people.
It's rare that I come away from finishing a podcast episode without feeling that I've learned something that I can apply to my own life.
Here are three podcasts that are entertaining, full of knowledge and that prioritize health and fitness.
Jocko Willink became well known after appearances on the Joe Rogan Experience and the Tim Ferriss Show.
He's a former Navy SEAL officer who served in Iraq, author of New York Times bestseller Extreme Ownership and an accomplished Brazilian jiu jitsu fighter. As a combat veteran, I love Jocko Podcast because he shares excerpts from notable war books and brings a combat perspective to discussions about business, daily routines, discipline, fitness and more. With his co-host Echo Charles, Jocko lays out the foundations of his mantra "Discipline Equals Freedom" and describes his morning ritual of 0430 wakeups, early morning workouts and so much more.
Tim Ferriss is the Tony Robbins of the millennial generation.
The Four Hour Workweek has been a game changer since 2007 and Tim's blog and podcast continue to feature amazing content from an incredible lineup of people ranging from Jamie Foxx to General Stanley McCrystal. While fitness is not the primary focus of these discussions, it is a common theme and is the domain of many of his guests, including Kelly Starrett and Amelia Boone. Tim dissects what has made his guests successful and provides insight into how their strategies can be adopted for your own success.
The conversations, often over wine or coffee, are endlessly entertaining and can be a significant source of knowledge for listeners.
Spartan Up Podcast features Joe Desena, creator of the Spartan Race and New York Times best-selling author, and his "panel of experts" as they breakdown and analyze the interviews on this show.
Joe interviews authors, athletes, military leaders and more as he attempts to find the secrets to success in all aspects of life.
My favorite episode: Spartan Race Inc. Obstacle Course Races | 055: Kelly Starrett: Stand Up!
Podcasts are an incredible way to gain some knowledge and keep yourself entertained while you're traveling. These three podcasts won't be a waste of your time.
