10 of the Best Gyms in the World to Visit

These famous and unique gyms are worth paying a visit to.

Anyone who’s passionate about fitness knows that there are some gyms that are simply iconic.

Traveling for some means seeing museums or amusement parks but for gym rats, there’s nothing like visiting one of these famous gyms and working out in a place where legends have trained.

These are ten of the best gyms in the world to visit:

  • Dedicated SuperGym

  • Gold’s Gym Venice

  • Muscle Beach Venice

  • Tulum Jungle Gym

  • CrossFit Wanderlust Bali

  • Oxygen Gym, Kuwait

  • The Bunker Gym

  • Tone House Nomad

  • The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa

  • Fusion Gym

Let’s take a closer look at what makes these gyms so special.

Dedicated SuperGym - Largest Gym

This one reminds me of those massive Amazon warehouses but with weights.

Dedicated SuperGym in Liverpool is the largest gym in the United Kingdom and one of the largest gyms in the world.

Opened in 2016, this gym claims to have the “largest dumbbell rack in the world” and there’s no reason to doubt it. You won’t have any issue finding heavy enough dumbbells here.

Gold’s Gym Venice - Most Iconic Gym

“The Mecca of Bodybuilding” has been a staple since it opened in 1965, achieving fame as the setting for Pumping Iron in 1977.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Rock, and 50 Cent are just some of the celebrities that train at Gold’s Gym Venice and it has held a spot as one of the most-visited gyms in the world.

Day passes to train at Gold’s Gym Venice are available for $40.

Venice again? That’s right, two of the best gyms in the world are in Venice, California and they’re both worth a visit so you can kill two birds with one stone.

Considered the birthplace of the physical fitness boom in America, Muscle Beach was opened in 1934 and is visited by thousands of tourists each year.

Just like Gold’s Gym Venice, many celebrities have trained at Muscle Beach Venice Gym, including Arnold Schwarzenegger and his bodybuilding crew in the 1970s.

Day passes are $10.

Tulum Jungle Gym - Best Beach Gym

A favorite of Instagram influencers, Tulum Jungle Gym sits on the Caribbean coast of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula.

Opened in 2017, the gym boasts equipment made almost entirely of wood, bamboo, and stone in an open-air environment right on the beach.

Day passes are $30 and cash is recommended.

CrossFit Wanderlust Bali - Best CrossFit Gym

Considered by some to be the best CrossFit gym in the world, CrossFit Wanderlust Bali at Wanderlust Fitness Village sports two large bays, tons of equipment, and its own cafe.

Opened in 2016, CrossFit Wanderlust offers membership options for short or long-term visits as well as fitness retreats that include hotels, meals, and hikes.

Oxygen Gym, Kuwait - Best Bodybuilding Gym

Bodybuilders come from around the world to train at “The Muscle Factory” in Sabah al Salem, Kuwait.

Imagine a multi-level facility with the most state-of-the-art equipment and some of the best bodybuilders in the world working out. That’s Oxygen Gym in Kuwait.

I wish I could offer you more insight into how to train at Oxygen but there’s little information publicly available.

The Bunker Gym - Most Unique Gym

Set underground in Sydney, Australia, The Bunker Gym by Fitness Playground was recently named Sydney’s best gym by Men’s Health magazine and is one of the best gyms in Australia.

The lighting, equipment, unique training zones, and specialty classes make this a one-of-a-kind setting for any fitness lover to train in.

Tone House Nomad - Best Gym Class

This list wouldn’t be complete without featuring a New York City gym.

Tone House Nomad has built a reputation for providing such grueling strength and conditioning workouts, that it’s been dubbed the “toughest workout in NYC.”

Classes are offered in Tone House’s 2,000-square-foot studio lined with turf.

The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa - Best Hotel Gym

When it comes to hotel gyms, this one is in a class of its own.

Since it opened in 1980, The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa has been changing the perception of what a hotel gym could be.

The 175,000-square-foot facility includes a 20,000-square-foot fitness floor with weights and machines, an indoor and outdoor running track, swimming pools, tennis courts, saunas, and steam rooms.

Fusion Gyms - Most Luxurious Gym

Fusion Gyms’ grand opening earlier this year in Philadelphia was streamed live on Instagram and attracted a large crowd anxious to get inside.

This gym is on another level and is probably the largest gym in the US. There are an incredible 36 squat racks in this gym, plus everything else you can possibly think of to lift.

In addition to the weightlifting floor, there’s also a football field, basketball courts, boxing rings, and octagon rings.
