The 10 Best Hotel Gyms in San Francisco

The 10 Best Hotel Gyms in San Francisco

Consider staying at one of these hotels with a sweet gym if you’re planning a visit to the City by the Bay.

It's hard to get excited about working out when your hotel's gym is nothing more than a dimly-lit closet tucked away in a corner of the basement.

Thankfully, this is happening less often.

Many hotels have realized that their guests actually care about their health and want to stay fit while they're away from home and separated from their normal fitness routines.

Some hotels have done better than others at providing a top notch fitness experience and we've picked ten of the best, most unique hotel gyms in San Francisco.

Fit Gym at W San Francisco

Enjoy great views and a modern atmosphere at W San Francisco, a trendy hotel located in the South of Market neighborhood and a mile from San Francisco Bay.

The newly restyled 1,875 square foot Fit Gym is energy-boosting and available to guests 24 hours a day. The room is infused with natural light from a dramatic skylight ceiling and aims to meet the needs of today’s savvy travelers by reflecting a modern and dynamic approach to fitness.

Mystic Hotel

This modern boutique hotel is located in Union Square within walking distance of Chinatown and the Financial District and is owned by celebrity chef Charlie Palmer.

It's not the largest gym but the Mystic Hotel provides guests with a nice variety of fitness options, including barbells, dumbbells, and the usual cardio machines.

Parc 55 - Hilton Downtown San Francisco

Parc 55 by Hilton is a contemporary high-rise hotel located in the heart of San Francisco, near Union Square and South of Market.

The fitness center is equipped with cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, and plenty of room for yoga, stretching, or some bodyweight training.

If you don't feel up to hitting the hotel gym, fitness-focused rooms are available. These rooms have a stationary bike, TRX Training straps, a pull-up bar, yoga mat, and enough space to enjoy a workout in the comfort of your room.

Axiom Hotel

Axiom Hotel is a chic, boutique hotel located in Union Square by the Powell Street Station and offers an exceptional experience for tech-savvy guests.

The CORE Fitness Center at Axiom Hotel is open 24 hours and has a sleek, modern feel. In a world full of hotel gyms that lack anything that makes them stand out from the rest, the motivational neon sign that says "Work It" is a big reason Axiom Hotel makes the list.

Four Seasons

This modern, luxury hotel is located in the heart of Yerba Buena and only a five minute walk from Union Square.

The 127,000 square foot Equinox Sports Club overlooks Market Street and comes with the usual compliment of equipment options but the number of cardio machines is staggering. There are 25 treadmills, 22 stationary bikes, 16 elliptical trainers, and 11 stair climbers. Don't count on waiting around for a machine to open up.

Palace Hotel

Enjoy modern decor with historic charm at this luxury hotel located in downtown San Francisco, near the Financial District and Lower Nob Hill.

The fitness center is open 24 hours and has floor-to-ceiling windows that look out on the pool, injecting the room with a clean flow of light and energy. The gym features a cardio training room, free weights, spin bikes, and a floor exercise area.

The Westin St. Francis

This upscale hotel is located in Union Square, right in the heart of San Francisco.

The WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio is open 24 hours and is equipped with Life Fitness treadmills, bicycles, and motion trainers. The weight floor is equipped with dual-pulley machines, free-weight equipment, and 5 to 50 pound dumbbells.

You can also customize your workout with functional training equipment such as kettlebells, medicine balls, strength bands, and the signature TRX® Suspension Trainer™.

San Francisco Marriott Marquis

This polished hotel set in a high-rise building is located in downtown San Francisco, near Union Square and Moscone Center.

The COR Health and Fitness Center is open 24 hours and has a ton of cardio machines, strength machines, free weights, and space to stretch out.

Hyatt Regency

This upscale hotel is located at the foot of Market Street and The Embarcadero in the Financial District.

The StayFit Fitness Center is open 24 hours and provides technologically advanced fitness equipment, including Life Fitness treadmills, cross trainers, Lifecycle exercise bikes, and weight machines, including chest and shoulder press, seated leg press, and lat pull down. Cold towels, a water station and headphones are also available for guests.

JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square

This luxury hotel is located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, a short walk from Powell Street Station and two miles from AT&T Park.

The Fitness Center is open 24 hours a day and includes cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, and plenty of space for you to stretch out or do yoga.
