The 10 Best Hotel Gyms in Los Angeles

The 10 Best Hotel Gyms in Los Angeles

Consider staying at one of these hotels with a great gym if you're visiting L.A.

The hotel gym used to be an afterthought for travelers and hotels alike. It was often tucked away in a room the size of a closet, windowless and containing a few cardio machines and maybe a set of light dumbbells.

But things are changing.

Many hotels are beginning to understand that health and fitness are important to more and more travelers these days. In an effort to court the growing number of fitness-minded travelers, hotels are building bigger and better gyms.

We've researched the hotel gyms. We've analyzed reviews, spoken with hotel operators, looked at countless photos, and visited many in person.

Here are our picks for the ten best hotel gyms in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Athletic Club

It's more of a gym with a hotel, rather than hotel with a gym. It's a 12-story building and the top three floors are hotel rooms. The other floors are all amenities and athletic facilities.

Guests of the Los Angeles Athletic Club have access to a 88,000 square foot fitness facility, with an indoor pool, basketball at the John R. Wooden Award Court, and squash, racquetball and handball courts.

There's also plenty of cardio machines, free weights, spa, sauna, and a steam room. Classes offered include yoga, Latin Fusion Dance, Cardio Hip Hop, Athletic Conditioning, Cardio Muay Thai, Hip Hop Dance, spinning and kickboxing.

Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown

The beautifully decorated fitness center at the Intercontinental Los Angeles Downtown offers amazing views of L.A. and all the fitness equipment you can hope for. W Los Angeles - West Beverly Hills

The FIT gym at the W Los Angeles in West Beverly Hills is open 24 hours a day and has top-of-the-line, state-of-the-art machines to help you stay in shape. Free weights, cardio machines, strength machines, and plasma television screens everywhere make for a pleasant workout while at the W.

The Westin Los Angeles Airport

This list would not be complete without including a hotel gym at LAX and choosing one was a no-brainer. The Westin Los Angeles Airport goes above and beyond when it comes to providing fitness amenities for their guests.

The WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio is complete with cardio machines, strength-training equipment, and free weights. One of the most popular additons to the fitness studio is a Peloton bike, giving you access to a world of classes, performance tracking metrics and more from a 22-inch HD touchscreen.
